What is there to say about me? I was born in Truckee and raised in this great little town by my very hard working parents. I graduated from Tahoe Truckee High School in 1993. I moved on to Santa Rosa Junior College to complete my general education units. I continued on to college in San Francisco. I studied physiological psychology (neurology) at San Francisco State University.
2003 blessed us with our first child. When it was time for my first child to begin daycare, I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. Either the care giver was perfect, but the facility was inadequate or vice versa. The lack of descent child care in Truckee prompted me to take action. I knew I had the ability to create a great learning environment. I knew I was gifted with patience, empathy, common sense, not to mention my nerves of steel. I was also gifted with my sister, who is a honored elementary school teacher and a walking vault of teaching expertise. Questions plagued me.. What does it take? Could I do it? Will I love it?
In 2004 we built and opened Silly Beans Learning Center. It takes a lot more than a few skills to run Silly Beans Learning Center successfully, but I found everything I needed to run this establishment within myself and my precious little clients. I learn from the children on a daily basis, and it is so much more than what is offered from educational materials, seminars and expert advice.
My job is very rewarding, I love it, I love my family, and I try to smell the flowers with every breath I take.
